So, I've been getting back into programming with C++, and my first experiment is ready for beta. Please let me know if it works (or not) on your system and if you run into any bugs or have any suggestions. Thanks! I hope you find it useful.

Vikapad (beta) [334k zip]
readme.txt:
Vikapad is a software MIDI controller. It allows you to control two
parameters at once by clicking and moving your mouse around on an XY
plane. When you let go of the mouse button, the values will jump
back to a preset "snapback" location. You can change this location
by control-clicking. Right clicking will hold your location even
after you let go. Click again to release. Holding down shift will
limit your movement to up-and-down. Holding down alt will limit your
movement to left-and-right.
In addition, you can configure a third controller to be sent
when you first click and another to be sent when you let go. This
is useful for turning an effect on and off, while the XY values
control two parameters of that effect.
Optionally, you can also change the minimum and maximum values of the
XY controllers, the color, and the descriptive labels. All of these
settings can be saved as presets and then recalled at any time with
the select-box on the main window.
You can have multiple instances of Vikapad running at the same time
(as many as you like!). The windows are resizable.
Note that before it will do anything useful, you must select your
MIDI out device from the MIDI Settings screen and configure your
hardware or software to respond to the controllers being sent. To
control other software, you will need a virtual MIDI connection like
MIDI Yoke (http://www.midiox.com/myoke.htm) or Hubi's MIDI loopback
(http://members.nextra.at/hubwin/midi.html).

I think I have a new favorite internet radio station.
I stumbled upon a nice mini-article about my music today. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. :) Thanks Jason!

Of course I read this AFTER going to Florence. Dammit.
The Electro-Music show went very well. It had to be the most attentive and supportive audience I have ever played for. (I even sold 5 CDs!)
I was only at the conference for that one night, but it appeared to be a great success. Special thanks to Howard and Greg for having me play and Cliff for doing the visuals. It was also nice to hang out and chat theory with Domino, Vytear, and Cliff afterwards. It's all about the people.
p.s. I'm not sure what happened with the audio stream. They might have been broadcasting from the other room at the time.
